    This class is a fun "Date Night" for you and a child to paint together. No experience is needed; this class is about spending quality time together and having fun. Each person is provided a 16 x 20 canvas, acrylic paints, and all the supplies needed to create their own masterpiece that can stand alone or be hung side-by-side for a combined work of art.     Continue to explore this beautiful folk art that originated in Norway. This class is for anyone who has taken a beginning Rosemaling class and has learned basic brush strokes. The class will include a project and students will learn more about color mixing and paint design. Participants can paint with oil or acrylic paint.   • Crochet: Beginning/Refresher

    Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone who once learned to crochet and have forgotten how, this class is for you! We start at the beginning, looking at tools and yarn. You will learn chain stitch, slip stitch, single, half double and double crochet, increasing and decreasing and how to read patterns and diagrams. You will make a dishcloth, scarf, granny squares and a small stuffed animal. Required supply list: (Note: Occasionally classes are canceled due to low enrollment. Crochet hook, size H/8 (5mm) Scissors Stitch markers (not the ring-type, the type that clip closes like safety pins) A bag to carry your project material in (a shopping bag is fine) At least 2 ounces of worsted weight crochet cotton yarn (such as Sugar 'n Cream). This type of yarn has this symbol on the paper band that goes around it: You will need to purchase a couple of additional skeins of yarn and additional hooks in other sizes for projects as the class progresses, but it will be discussed in class. Stores frequently sell kits with a range of crochet hook sizes which may save you a bit on the cost of the individual hooks. If you find a kit that covers the size range from H through K, it would be a good investment.

  • Improve Your Drawing Using Augmented Reality

    Unlikely as it seems, your phone or tablet can be a huge help in learning to draw. We will be working from digital photographs and using the Da Vinci Eye software to help with rendering your photo onto your 2 dimensional surface.   • Introduction to Glassblowing

    Have you ever wanted to try glassblowing, but felt intimidated? This class is great for beginners with or without any experience! You will learn safety fundamentals, tool and torch usages, solid rod welding and gathering, color application, shaping and more. You will be able to create small trinkets, marbles, paper weights, plant rods, or anything else that can be thought of with the skills learned.
  • Needle Felt Snow Globe

    Create a beautiful snow globe “painting” out of wool roving. Learn to needle felt an image on a piece of felt using roving as your "paint." The image will be created in a small embroidery hoop that can be hung on your tree or a wall for decoration. They also make great gifts.
  • Rosemaling: Workshop

    Students will choose a pattern and provide paper or prepared woodenware on which to work. The instructor will give critiques and ideas to improve stroke work, color and design.
