Preschool for Fours
Our focus is to provide your 4-year old with a high quality and engaging learning experience that will ignite a love of learning and prepare him or her for kindergarten. Our programs follow the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and have been awarded a 4-Star Parent Aware rating. These half day and full day classes meet five days per week at the district elementary schools. Children must be 4 years old by September 1st of the school year.
Due to anticipated demand for these preschool classes, a lottery system will be used for the beginning of the registration period for the 2019-2020 school year. Priority for preschool classes is given to Richfield school district residents who meet eligibility requirements set by the Minnesota Department of Education. The lottery applications will be accepted from December 14, 2018 through 4:00 pm on January 25, 2019. All completed applications received by 4:00 pm on January 25th from eligible families will have equal opportunity for enrollment. The lottery will determine the order in which applications are processed for placement. Placement results will be mailed to homes approximately the third week of February. Transportation is available for afternoon sessions only. All students must be toilet-trained by the first day of school.
Any applications received after January 25th will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and placed into classes as space permits. Out-of-district (open enrollment) applicants will be placed on an out-of-district waiting list.
