Local opportunities to connect, learn and grow. Course offerings are typically announced three times per year in mid-August, mid-December, and early March.

Create over 20 crowd-pleasing appetizers that require less than 20-minutes! You can serve these as a first course, a snack or even as a complete buffet for family and friends. Selections include recipes for spreads, hearty appetizers, dips, dippers, nibbles, hot appetizers and more. Bring an appetite for sampling in class. You will also learn tips for creating an appetizer party. Bring a container to bring home leftovers. Supply fee of $16 cash paid to instructor at class.

Richfield Community Education offers swim lessons and lifeguard training throughout the year. School year lessons are held on 5 consecutive Saturdays. Summer lessons follow the Olympic Style curriculum and last for 8 sessions over a 2 week period. If you do not see any lesson offerings right now, it means that our current lessons are underway and the upcoming sessions are not yet available for registration. New registration opportunities open with the start of each seasonal catalog. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repeat!! Come join the fun with eco-friendly activities and a viewing art gallery. You will plant a flower out of a reusable vase, using recycled items to build a robot and more! Also, enjoy the hallways that will be beautifully decorated by our very own preschool students, inspired by a book about taking care of the earth. Are you interested in biking to the event? The family bike ride will start at the Wood Lake Nature Center parking lot at @5:30pm and end at the Central Education Center for the Art Crawl family event. The route is about one-mile-long and mostly on an off-street trail — plus, there’s only one hill! Helmets are strongly encouraged. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Learn tips and techniques to assemble a bright and bold balloon arch which will be completed during the class as a group. This is a bilingual class in Spanish and English. Join us for a fun basketball camp that provides players with a well-rounded basketball experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Camps end with scrimmages/games on the final day.

Whether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player, join us this summer to learn the royal game of Chess! This is a fun time for new and experienced players to learn strategies with new chess lessons and puzzles each day as well as guided games and in-class tournaments. If you are signed up for both a morning and an afternoon enrichment class during this week, your child will be supervised over the lunch hour. Please send them with a bag lunch each day.

In this American Health & Safety Institute accredited program, we teach the importance of responsibility, recognizing an emergency, action steps, personal safety, fire and water safety, infant/child basic care, and also, basic first aid & CPR.
